the end of CNY.

Personally, I’m proud that Chap Goh Meh is being called so, mind you it’s Hokkien k.. ah the sense of belongingness! but we had our Pai Ti Kong on the 9th night lah, meaning praying to the God above in the sky? Shrugs weh. Then what’s with tonight? Besides it being the 15th night, the end of CNY and that the fullmoon appears, wait, the last I know of the fullmoon, should come during tanglung festival what..oh yes the mandarin oranges, ummm throw them in lake, get the man of your dreams right? With today’s technology, kid you not can write number sms each other and go for a date somemore. Wait, the girl throws and the boy fetches it from the lake ar? I don’t really know the history/legend/myth. It’s quite frustrating I’m not Chinese enough, intellectually. Like the series of 12 animals, I still can’t get it k. People seem to know the urutan and it sounds really cool for them to cite it all out in Hokkien/Mandarin, kinda turns me on, ok nvm. Yeah I know, I’ll just have to google it. Later lah.

I was sucking and slurping on lots and lots of lalas for dinner, haha lala sekalian don’t terasa ok? I think I just really like seafood in general. In love with prawns, the bigger and juicier the better, oh throw me si ham I’d be so happy dippin them in sambal and yes others too. But really, why do we call lalas “lala”? why, do they look like it? I remember someone once explained to me, but I need the explanation again now haha..pls my dear friends, kill my curiosity, why are they in comparison with lala? I like the taste of lala, oh what to do.

Dinner half way, dad came announcing about lion dance performance and this year I’ve not watched one yet and I really needed the loud tong tong chiang in my ears and chest, it kind of brings luck for me, psychologically. So we hurried out to the event held for Taman Desa residents, in the most inappropriate t-shirts and hair and slippers.

So ok, there at the Chap Goh Meh Dinner event, nama je dinner but more like a canteen day with coupons for sale. it was kinda exciting for me as I believe for all of my APR1 friends, we’ve been more observant lately when it comes to events, like we have our own opinions and naturally would relate back to our Truly Loving Campaign, right? Their emcees need to attend classes lah weh! No, there’s no such thing as mcing classes, trying to say they suck that bad lah.

“Erm erm, now we would like to invite a volunteer who is not a professional singer but is brave enough to try because she is good in singing and it’s because there is a delay with the lion dance team because they are not ready, something is wrong there, our volunteer will sing now”. (no I tak tokok tambah, me and sis were stunned!)

-_-“””””””” COVER LINE PUN TAK. Stoooooooo…sigh.

not bad the community of Tmn Desa, really active, should I get involved? don't think my parents will like that arrgh banyak problem nanti.

There were performances lah, most of them Chinese singers and I really don’t know how to sing along you see, sitting down there layan je..until ok lah, at least I know who Alley Cats is, and the last man standing, Datuk David Arumugam, as we know very well, lives in Tmn Desa and often bump into him buying kueh/visiting pasar malam. There he was, singing songs I actually know how to applaud to.

as you can see, we were still in our home clothes when we ran out sigh malu. oh yes, with the man of the signature afro. and i swear he smells of alcohol like lebih-lebih. from L-R : mum, me, David Arumugam, Lionel boy, dad, aunt jenny (mum's sis) and sis.

and I sighed at its beauty =)

close up, sorry lah, not DSLR ma..

spot the moon! =) omg my eye bags..

I didn’t feel like staying for long so I walked home, to hear from my back a bigger lion dance performance with freaking beautiful fireworks. Regretful, yes. Should have stayed back.
