Good or not, at least I’m not in the worst situation lah. 2nd week of internship and now I start receiving whines and cries from my fellow internmates, I do feel very bad for them cos it could have been me working like a donkeeee, if I stayed loyal to what u call a PR FIRM. Gosh the sound of it makes me go really crazy (ttyl about that).
So my friends are quite emotionally strained by the sound of it: these are examples of rants via msn (right this moment like mins away), I choose to protect their names lah.

PROFESSIONALISM 101 ?!?!?

The expertness characteristic they say. I say, reflect yourself first thank you. When you are not even close to a good example anymore, why bother tell people to LEARN being professional or have professional demands of others. Ok let me just get this straight, people who are so called professional don’t know how to look after their own asses and faces. Many issues got me uptight obviously.
Case #1: Someone whom I respected all along has lost my respect for him today. This is for not being able to defend someone so dear to you in a situation so true, you were not on my side, you didn’t trust me, the one you should protect is cherry and not them good-for-nothing brown nosers. The way u make me feel is a total reflection of your professionalism.
Case#2:My sister works in a terrible company lately and I’m so glad she’s leaving and that they are losing her soon! and the so called Business Development Manager needs to go loan some brains to give tips on how to do sales. I’d know how to give pointers. Asshole company made people stay back til 6freaking am, fine that’s an understatement, make that 11am THE VERY NEXT DAY just to label stickers on items wtf. And recently(like right this moment) made her go all the way to penang to be an event coordinator when that is totally out of her jobscope and she’s still doing it. I’d walk out immediately.
Case#3: My brother’s class teacher who dances, eraser-fights, throws tantrums, throws textbooks and sleeps in class. OMG WHAT’S HAPPENING TO THE WORLD. And I always looked up to the profession of a teacher.
Case#4: Companies that make their interns go on OT, you suck so fucking much.

Let me put it this way for the 4th case study....
Back when we were students last sem, we all had to stay up 4 am in the morning to do our campaign paper work or even set up, and it was weeks of it.
Now, we are interns, and are asked to do a bit of OT...while it sucks to no end, it is part of the real world. And we did (very desperately) signed on contracts saying we would oblige to OTs.
Also, if it was acceptable when we were students (since we were paying college), why isn't OT acceptable as interns (since we don't pay these companies and even some of them pay us)
hey sab why of course i'd totally agree with you. OTs can have its pros and cons and i thought of it only as instigated by our suffering mates, like it or not, definitely some are being used as much as possible and i feel very bad for them(what more not being paid). of cos it's part of learning but i was just saying for i am a feeler rather than a thinker (myer briggs type indicator personality test). I also wish i still have those TLC times' stamina (boy we were crazy!) but that was for something we own. our very own project, the way i look at it lar.
but thanks for your comparison there sab, very nicely put.
